COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNICIAN Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for providing technical support to all employees
- Assist staff to develop computer skills as required for their job
- Ensure that work-stations are running properly and performing as required
- Troubleshoot all computer software problems including the following:
o Research and evaluate software and hardware that will enhance the effectiveness of the firm o Implement and maintain system policies as approved by IT Specialist o Create and maintain new user accounts and assign appropriate privileges, memberships and policies o Maintain Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2003 Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Suite o Maintain security patches and system updates on server as per IT Specialist approval o Build and set up work-stations as required o Perform data backup recovery o Control and monitor e-mail use o Assist the other IT positions.
Communications Provide verbal and written reports to the IT Specialist and Business Manager detailing equipment problems and potential solutions Prepare a department update to be presented bi-weekly Work with and understand technical competencies/documentation and interpretation, troubleshoot and explain problems and potential solutions at a lower technical point-of-view
Employment Guide Post-secondary education in the computer discipline, technical training or certification in computer industry Ability to work in a team environment and individually Strong skills in problem solving/troubleshooting coding and software issues Ability to interact and communicate effectively with multiple departments Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently Advanced ability to think analytically
